Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon Update Post

deweys-24-hour-readathon

It’s one of my favorite days of the year: Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon!! I’m so excited to do nothing but READ all day (and possibly all night). I usually get about 16-17 hours in, and I enjoy it so much! I have a huge stack of books & comics & an audiobook–so here we go!

Hour 1

Opening Survey!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I am reading from Nashville, TN!!! (It’s my last readathon here! I’ll be moving to St. Louis this summer!)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I don’t really have a pre-selected stack–but I’m hoping to get to Shadowhouse Fall by Daniel Jose Older. Or maybe my galley of Bruja Born by Zoraida Cordova…or maybe the second book in the Gilded Cage series.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I found a box of Extra Toasty Cheezits & I’m very excited that that is a thing!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I’m a teacher in Nashville–and this readathon is perfectly timed for some relaxation as the end of the year approaches.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? One thing I’ll do different today is try to be okay with napping if I have to. I usually don’t want to, but I think it may be useful.

  1. Shadowshaper is on my TBR and I hope to get to it soon.
I’ve never participated in a readathon. I tell myself that I will do it one day, perhaps when my kiddo is a teenager and doesn’t want to hang out with his parents! 🙂

    1. That sounds like a great idea–or maybe when he’s old enough to also read while you read? 🙂 I really recommend Shadowshaper. It’s not perfect, but it’s a pretty interesting book with great characters. I immediately ordered the next one from the library and promptly bought 2 novellas set in the world for my Kindle.
