Sunday Post: November 12, 2017

The Sunday Post is a weekly event hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a way to wrap up your week, share news/book hauls, and consolidate links to your posts & other posts you’ve liked throughout the week. I really enjoy doing this (mostly) weekly. It gives me a way to wrap up my week!

Weekly Reading Updates

Books Finished This Week

This was an exceptionally good reading week for me. I actually finished The Tethered Mage last Saturday before my Sunday Post posted…but I was too lazy to change it. I was able to finish the audiobook of Prisoner of Azkaban on my commute, and finished Hourglass in one day last weekend. Dumplin’ was super enjoyable and I read it throughout the week, and then I read The Girls on my day off Friday. It was a really great week for the House Cup Reading Challenge!

Reading Challenges

  • House Cup Reading Challenge
    • Year 7: Hourglass by Myra McEntire (20 points)
    • Occlumency: The Tethered Mage by Melissa Caruso (10 points)
    • Tri-Wizard Tournament: Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy (10 points)
    • Time Turner: The Girls by Emma Cline (10 points)
    • Hufflepuff: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling (10 points)
    • In total, I ended the Reading Challenge with 227 points for Hufflepuff. I feel pretty proud of that!
  • Litsy Reading Challenge
    • Girl(s) in the Title: The Girls by Emma Cline
  • Diversity Bingo 2017
    • MC With an Under-Represented Body: Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy

I didn’t get any books finished for it this week, but I only have 4 tasks left for Read Harder 2017. I’m confident I’ll finish that this year (though it may be my only year-long challenge I do finish!)

Currently Actively Reading

I am really excited to revisit the world from Seraphina in Shadow Scale. I also need to finish it because I have a spin-off novel from the series in Netgalley form & will need to read it eventually. I’m almost done with How to Read Literature Like a Professor and I’m still enjoying it as well. Shadows of Night will be here for a few months because I’m real-time reading it & the story in it takes place from November until February or March.
