#ARCstravaganza: The Driver by Hart Hanson

#ARCstravaganza is a weekly meme hosted by Krysti at YA and Wine and Sarah at The Clever Reader to give book bloggers/bookstagrammers a chance to show off those ARCs/eARCs/Galleys! Comment on their weekly posts with a link to your own #ARCstravaganza blog post, or post a pic on Instagram using the #ARCstravaganza hashtag, and you will be entered to win an ARC copy of an upcoming YA novel! One winner will be chosen at random each month!

This is my first time doing this meme, and I’m not sure I’ll have enough eARCs to do it every week, but I’m excited to show off some of the upcoming releases I have to read!

The Driver

Book: The Driver

Author: Hart Hanson (yes, creator of Bones!)

Anticipated Release Date: August 8, 2017

Goodreads Synopsis:

Michael Skellig is a limo driver waiting for his client in the alley behind an upscale hotel. He’s spent the past twenty-eight hours ferrying around Bismarck Avila, a celebrity skateboard mogul who isn’t going home any time soon. Suddenly the wind begins to speak to Skellig in the guttural accent of the Chechen torturer he shot through the eye in Yemen a decade ago: Troubletroubletrouble. Skellig has heard these warnings before—he’s an Army Special Forces sergeant whose limo company is staffed by a ragtag band of wounded veterans, including his Afghan interpreter—and he knows to listen carefully.

Skellig runs inside just in time to save Avila from two gunmen but too late for one of Avila’s bodyguards—and wakes up hours later in the hospital, the only person of interest in custody for the murder. Complicating matters further is the appearance of Detective Delilah Groopman of the LAPD, gorgeous and brash, for whom Skellig has always held a candle. As for Avila? He’s willing to help clear Skellig’s name under one peculiar condition: that Skellig become Avila’s personal chauffeur. A cushy gig for any driver, except for the fact that someone is clearly trying to kill Avila, and Skellig is literally the only person sitting between Avila and a bullet to the head.

Why I’m Excited For It:

Okay, so it was a pretty pure fandom moment when I requested this book. I requested it because Hart Hanson was the author and Bones is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I came for post-Angel David Boreanaz, but I stayed for the wit and the heart and the characters. I just think if this book has even a tenth of the heart and wit Bones did, it’ll be a huge winner. So excited to read it!

What ARCS/e-ARCS/galleys are you excited about? Are you a Bones fan? Let me know in the comments!
