Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly event hosted by Danielle’s Book Blog and The Girl Who Read Too Much. Each participant picks a book to match a theme, then finds the original cover, the covers for your country, and identifies favorite/least favorite covers. For more information, check out the Goodreads page.
This week’s theme is based on the fact that World Smile Day is tomorrow. My task was to pick a book that made me smile recently…but I went back in time a little ways to find this gem. I picked Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World because I just fell in love with Dewey and his life at the library. It was a great book and I recommend it if you are a cat lover and love to read. Such a great, heartwarming little story.
Original Cover
Other U. S. Covers
This is the US children’s version of the book. It was the only other US edition I could find.
Favorite Covers
Chinese//French//US
I really love the French cover the best, next to the original edition. I like the colors and cat outline a lot. I like the original edition because Dewey is so cute. I also like the Chinese cover because the book in front of Dewey is open and I like that image.
Least Favorite Covers
German//Spanish//Swedish
I wanted to like the German cover because I like the green, but there’s just something about the pawprints I find too cutesy. I don’t even know what to say about the Spanish cover except WHAT?? That cat is not cute. There are no books. Dislike! The Swedish cover I don’t like because it’s just kind of blah.
Have you read about Dewey? What covers do you love/hate? What book made you smile for BTT? Let me know below!!
Awww, so cute! I didn’t know about this book. I think my favorite is the Chinese edition, I love the open book because it seems like he was just reading when they took the picture haha 😛
My BTT if you want to check it out 🙂

I haven’t read the book but it looks awesome. I think the Spanish cover is ugly and the Swedish is creepy…

Yeah some of the covers were very odd choices. I just can’t figure out the Spanish cover.

That Spanish cover? I have no words, what happened? I think my favorite is the Chinese, I love the idea of the cat reading the book.

I know, the Spanish cover is so bad. But I do really like the Chinese cover. 🙂
